What Tyra and Eva said on The View
Tyra and Eva appeared
on the popular daytime talk show The View on March 2nd, the day the show had the premiere of its fourth season.
Here’s what she had to say.
Tyra on the catwalk:
Stare forward and
look like you are pissed off, stomp hard!
Tyra on Youth:
Go into an agency
and lie about your age. “And then you’ll start working a lot, and then you’ll have to go to Europe, and then you’ll finally have to show your passport, and by then they’re
in love with you, and who cares?”
Tyra on the contestants:
Michelle- “She’s
a very interesting person because she’s true to herself, and there’s something about her that I just want to hug
her. She’s so tender and so open and so vulnerable. She looks pissed off, sometimes to much ion her pictures.”
Lluvy- “Lluvy
is a janitor! Lluvy is a beautiful Latin girl from Modesto, California and her mom owns a janitorial company and she works for her mom, and I’m thinking
okay, so you work for your mom behind a desk? Ands she’s like no, scrubbing toilets. And what we love about Lluvy is
she has unconventional beauty, you know, kind of like a Shelly Duvall, with those big, kind of droopy eyelids.”
On second chances
(in reference to Tiffany)
“Second chances
are very important, The very first time I worked for Victoria’s Secret, I mean it was like 8, 9 years ago, I got thrown off set. and I got
thrown off set because my hair was so bad, but what it was, was that hairdresser wasn’t trained to work with my type
of hair, but who gets blamed? I looked bad, they sent me home. But Victoria’s Secret gave
me a second chance. Actually I called them, and said to my agent, call them right now cause I know I got the booty and I got
the things you need to work for that company, and they gave me a second chance… you know with tiffany she had those
anger problems, she went through anger management, and she cleaned her life up, so when she came back I was like I think you’re
ready.”
After the interview
with Tyra, Eva came out to talk about life as a Top Model.
Eva on how catty it gets behind the scenes
“Well you always
have to remember it’s the spirit of competition. It's competition. Your regular or normal personality is definitely
not what is transferred on television or what is transferred in the house among the girls, because it’s all about making
sure you make that impression, your sizing all the rest of the girls up. You’re trying to get your niche, you’re
trying to find it and a lot of times, I know in my situation, I was, it was about me. I was gonna win the show and forget
you guys, and I wqas gonna win. ”
Eva On if she sees
that quality in one of the girls now
“Umm, I see
a lot of edginess in the girls, which is a good thing, but you have to learn how to hold it and to be tactful in your speech.”
Tyra on Eva the
diva
“I think with
Eva, she started off kinda with a chip on her shoulder, and had this insecurity thing, but I think that the competition really
made her a look within, and I think she really blossomed and I’m really proud of her.”
Eva on how she
was in the beginning
“Umm, like I
said. You walk in there and you’re like I have to win this, I have to take it, and you don’t want to give anyone
an edge over you. You wanna tear them down before they can tear you down… It didn’t work at all. (Laughs) It didn’t
work at all as you can see from the first episode, I bawled like a baby.
Eva on how her
life has changed
“Besides the
obvious, being the new face of CoverGirl, following the beautiful Tyra Banks, Queen Latifah, Molly Sims, and now I’m
in the middle of that. Its, oh, it’s a dream come true. And I work everyday. And I have to say that has been the biggest
blessing for me to be able to get up and have 3 or 4 jobs a day, every single day. It’s wonderful.”
Tyra on Eva’s
success
“I think Eva
is our most successful winner yet. She’s doing so well.”
Star Jones on Mr.
Jay
“He is the best
makeup artist in the world!”
